BON SECOURS HOSPITAL CORK – WELL PLACED FOR THE FUTURE

With the hugely impressive building project underway at the Bon Secours Hospital in Cork, the Housekeeping and Catering staff have showed that they are well prepared to service these new state of the art medical facilities.

In August, the Housekeeping and Catering teams both scooped their respective GOLD Awards with the CAP Award Programme. It is an impressive double for the Hospital.
Harry Canning, Bon Secours Hospital Manager, said the awards were recognition of the hard work and dedication of both teams.

He said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that we have won Gold for both Catering and Housekeeping. It is a chance for the two departments to take a bow and enjoy their well deserved moment in the spotlight”

The CAP Awards (the Continuous Advancement Programme) measure the quality of cleaning and food service in healthcare facilities across Ireland and the UK and are regarded by patients and their families as a mark of high quality, safe best practices and service.

The hospital plans to continue working with the CAP Award Programme in the year ahead to maintain, and where possible improve, the quality of the housekeeping and catering departments.

CAP Award inspectors are industry leading experts who support hospitals and other healthcare facilities throughout the year to be the best they can be for their patients and staff.

The patients entering into the new build in 2017 can be ensured that the Housekeeping and Catering will be reflective of the excellence in the medical care and in the actual facilities themselves
