Housekeeping Team Shines at Mater Private Hospital
The Housekeeping Team shines at the Mater Private Hospital in Cork
With the Hospital’s own mission being “to provide the highest quality acute healthcare to the patients we are privileged to serve”, the Mater Private Hospital can be assured that their Housekeeping Department is adhering to their vision for patient care.
The Housekeeping Services at the Hospital located in Citygate, Mahon underwent an unannounced CAP Award Assessment visit in late 2017. The outcome was spectacular with the Hospital being awarded the Gold CAP Award for their Housekeeping Services.
With the cleaning now being undertaken at the Mater Private by a highly trained team from an independent Cleaning Contractor Neylon’s, the performance of the department in delivering a high level of cleaning is to be commended. This is clearly an essential element of patient care and the determination of the Housekeeping Department and Hospital to maintain the highest levels of cleanliness was very, very evident.
The inspector commented on the enthusiasm of the Housekeeping Team to keep pushing for higher and higher standard plus the strength of the back-room due to diligence and support systems as being particularly impressive.
Donna Roach CEO at the Mater Private Hospital commented “our own infection control inspection results indicated that the Housekeeping Team were doing a great job for us and that ratified by external eyes is excellent. A great outcome for the team and Hospital and most importantly patient care”. Around 40% of organisations fail to meet award-winning standards but join the CAP (Continuous Advancement Programme) to improve their standards as part of their on-going progression. Credit is therefore due to the Housekeeping Team and their commitment to keeping the Hospital clean and providing the right environment for the very best patient care
